My First Home Decor And Style Purchases

6 min read

Introduction

If you’ve purchased home decor before, you know how exciting it can be! I remember the first time I purchased home decor and furniture, and it was such a fun experience. Even though my initial purchases weren’t exactly grandiose or expensive, they were still meaningful purchases that changed my life forever. After years of living in tiny apartments with roommates or subpar landlords, this move felt like an upgrade from every angle. So today I’m going to share with you some of my favorite firsts:

My first home decor and style purchases were quite simple.

My first home decor and style purchases were quite simple. I purchased two throw pillows as my first purchase, and they’re still my favorite! After that, I purchased a couch and coffee table set that came with the lamp pictured above. It’s one of my favorite lamps because it has such a lovely shape without being too ornate or distracting from other elements in the room.

One of my first purchases was two throw pillows. They’re still my favorite! Throw pillows are a great way to add color and pattern to your space, and they can be used in any room of the house. I love how they help me create a cohesive look throughout my apartment without having to paint or wallpaper everything. If you want something bolder than just plain white walls, but don’t know where else in your home should be decorated with such an intense color scheme–a pillow might be just what you need!

After that, I purchased a couch and coffee table set! This is a great place to start if you’re looking for something that will help build your home decor and style. It’s also really affordable.

I always recommend starting with the basics: couches, tables, lamps and vases are things that everyone can use in their living spaces. They’re very versatile pieces of furniture which means they work well with any style (modern or traditional). So if you want to get started on this journey but don’t know where to begin then start here!

I also purchased a small table lamp that’s now one of my favorite lamps.

I also purchased a small table lamp that’s now one of my favorite lamps. I love the way it looks and how it adds to the aesthetic of my living room, but I think it could work in any room in your house. You can use table lamps as nightstands or on your desk if you’re working at home, or if you have a larger space that needs some additional lighting, table lamps are great for providing extra illumination without being too obtrusive. They come in all shapes and sizes so no matter what kind of decorating style you have going on in your home or office, there will be something out there for everyone!

Then I purchased some more throw pillows for my living room sofa.

I decided to purchase a throw pillow for my sofa. I bought this one from Target and it’s been a great addition to my living room! It’s also helped bring together both of my styles, because it has bold colors that match with my home decor, but it still has some modern touches like the geometric pattern on the front of the pillow.

Next, I decided to start investing in some artwork for the walls of my new home.

Next, I decided to start investing in some artwork for the walls of my new home. Artwork can make a big impact on the style of your home and can be a great way to express yourself as well as add personality. A lot of people like to hang up posters from their favorite movies or shows, but I prefer more personal pieces that reflect who I am as an individual. For example, one of my favorite artists is Banksy (if you don’t know who he is yet, go check him out). In addition to being extremely talented at what he does–his art reminds me so much about how important it is for us all not only have fun but also take time out every day just being ourselves!

As I put up the artwork, I realized that I needed something to hold them in place so they wouldn’t fall off the wall when we moved!

I was so excited to put up my artwork, but I quickly realized that I would need something to hold them in place so they wouldn’t fall off the wall when we moved!

There are several options:

  • Use a picture hanger. These work best on walls with drywall or plaster. You can buy them at any home improvement store and they come with instructions on how to use them! You just need a hammer (or something similar) and a nail (or something similar). This is what I did for my first few pieces of art because it was quick and easy!
  • Use a nail and hammer instead of tape if your work isn’t too heavy. This method works well if you don’t have much experience with hanging things using tape alone because it takes more time than other methods but is still relatively straightforward once you get used to it!

Home decor is an investment into your future style and happiness

The home decor you buy today is an investment into the future. It’s a way to express who you are now, but also who you want to be in the future.

Home decor is a reflection of your lifestyle and personality, so it’s important that whatever pieces of furniture or accessories that come into your home match up with how much time and effort goes into decorating them. When selecting colors for walls or fabrics for couches, think about how much time it will take for these colors/textures/patterns to become faded after washing them over many years of use. If this seems like too much work (and let’s face it: most people don’t want their lives revolving around laundry), then consider investing in high quality items that won’t fade away easily!

Conclusion

I hope that this post has inspired you to start investing in your home decor and style. It’s an investment into your future, after all! I also want to remind everyone that if you’re looking for some advice on where to start with your own decorating projects, please feel free to reach out on Instagram or Facebook.
